other Ships and fforces between Cape Race, and Bonavista Lib. H. D. upon the Eastern Coast of Newfoundland; And particularly that you encourage the sending of such Provisions, Victualls and Refreshmts as may be usefull to our Ships and Land fforces there, for wch We have taken Care that due paymt be made. And in Generall that you do every thing that you and our Councill or Representatives of our Province of the Massachusetts Bay may think conducing to our Service; or that may be desired by our sd Cornander in Cheif on this Occasion. Came to Philadelphia a Vessell directly from Denmark Loaden with Wine Copper Vessells and Severall other European Goods there she lay till all the Goods were unladen and the Vessell unrigg'd and then the Governr Order'd the Collr to Seize her which accordingly was done and the Vessell Con demned and sould again to the Mercht for a very incon siderable Sume they imediately rigg'd her again and sent her away, this business was so very ill manag'd that it opened peoples mouths & made thm talk very hardly of the Governr Another Instance is of a Briganteen Now in tht Harbour p. 97 She Came from New York to Load Tobo and took in almost all her lading without giving any Bond or Security this was a thing soc Notorious that it was Talked of by some who they fear'd would give yor Exncy an Account of it (which is the only thing that keeps them in some awe) upon which the Governr Sent the Collr to Seize Wch was accordingly done and prepara tion made for the Tryall but in few days the Governr Orders the discharge of the Brigantine without any further prosecu tion This business made a great Noise Especially since some of the Ownrs reported tht it Cost above a hundred pound to
