way of sending this Message to the said Indians will be by an
Indian considering that present circumstances of affaires unless
it be thought adviseable to communicate the said matter to
his Matys Govr of Virginia forthwith.
Which this Comittee do humbly leave to the consideration
of his Excy and his Matys honble Councill and house of Dele-
gates in Assembly now Sitting but that if his Excy Sr Edmond
Andros be sent to and consent in this affaire tht then the
Message be sent by English.
Whereupon put to the Question in the house and resolved,
that the Message to be sent to the Indians, be sent by an
Indian.
3dly It being represented by the Delegates from Baltemore
County that they are in no dread or apprehensions of fear
through Indians in those parts This comittee are of opinion
that the continuing of the Rangers in Baltemore County for
secureing those frontiers is needless and may be dismissed if
his Excy approves thereof.
The house concurr therewith Nemine Contradicente, that
the Rangers in Baltemore County be disbanded.
4. The Comittee find that the persons appointed to treat
with the Indians att the head of the Bay have made noe
returne in obedience to the order, so this comittee have not
to say further therein.
5. His honr Col: George Robotham the following acct of
the Choptank Indians Vizt That they are more condesending,
peaceable and quiett then ever he knew them before, his honr
Col. Hutchins gives the same acct of the Indians in Dorchester

County, and Mr Iohn Bozman gives likewise the same rela-
tion of the Indians in Somersett County.
6. The Comittee do unanimously conclude and agree that
it will be convenient and necessary that the Gen' by act of
Assembly appointed for decideing differences betwixt the
English and Indians in Genll that now there being a Generall
peace throughout Christendom they may have the same happi-
ness here if they will be neighbourly friendly and Quiettly.
Resolved that the said Gent: do acquaint the Indians there-
with.
Then the house considering that they had sent the afd
comittee out Especially to consult it were necessary to con-
tinue the Rangers or to strengthen the fronteir plantations
upon Potomack att New Scottland, by placing some of these
Rangrs among the Inhabitants att their Severall plantations
and for as much as by a reporte of the Comittee it does not
appear to this house that the same was thereby debated.
Resolved the following Message be sent to his Excy and the
