Vpon the Again pusing the Levy Law this Board have
Considered to Appoint the Hon^ble S^r Thomas Lawrence
Baron^tt Secreta^ry Collon^ll Henry Jowles Thom^s Tench Esq^r
Collon^ll John Addison & Thomas Brookes Esq^r Members of
his Maj^ties hon^ble Councill to bee added to the Committee for
apportioning the publick Levy & that they be first nominated
in the Act And it is proposed th^t the time for their meeting
to apportion the Same be when the Provinciall Court Sitts in
the ffall And provided 20000^ll tob. more is now thought fitt to
bee Levyed the Justices Charge of this & the next Provinciall
Court may bee defrayed. Signed p Order

In Answere to what the house has this day sent Concern-
ing the Bill of Revivall his Excell^cy for yo^r Sattisfaction hath
heerewith Sent Coppies of two of his Maj^ties Royall Instruc-
tions by w^ch hee takes himselfe to bee tyed vp from Passing-

The said Bill, Yet does believe It necessary that a Bill bee
drawne to revive the Temporary Laws passed Last Session of
Assembly w^ch otherwise wil expire.
You are to send vp what thing you are Minded should pass
into Ordinances of Assembly.
His Excell^cy has Rec^d the Letter to my Lord of London w^ch
hee well Approves of but is pleas'd to send you two Clauses
out of two Lette^rs which hee rec^d from his Lordshpp Viz^t as
for Davis hee is of a very good Gentlemans family & I was
in hopes to have made him a good man but his Idle prating
ag^st yo^r Plantations make me fear the worse.
I have taken all the Care I can to Supply you with more
(viz^t good Clergymen) though the vngratefull Davis does
what Mischief he can. his Excell^cy recommends to you to
Vindicate the Reputation of yo^r Country for fear such false
Scandalous & Malitious Reports should be discouragm^t to
any good Clergyman Comeing hither

Apportioning the Publick Levy in October 1699.
