By the house of Delegates Iuly 12th 1699:
The Message by the honble Tho: Tench and Iohn Addison
Esqrs has been here Considered and forasmuch as the parishes
in this County are Settled wee humbly desire to be Excused
from Concurring wth yor Excys & the honble Councills propo-
sition in annexing the next adjacent parish and as it is Repre-
sented to be Inconsiderabell to the neighbouring parishes as
being a Resident here he will be ready to attend the Provll
Courts and Assemblys & in Consideration of those Extraordi-
nary Services this house will take Care to Make him such
acknowledgmts as shall be together wth his said Benefice a
sufficient Support for his Maintenance untill such time that
some other methods may be found out to provide better for
his Support

Mr Iacob Moreland Enters the house and Reportes tht he
has been at the house of Mr Iohn Dent & sent for Two
Justices of the peace to the house of the said Iohn Dent in
ordr to take the acknowledgemt of the ffifty Acres of Land at
the Coole Springs according to the Conveyance wth him sent
wch he has refused & Denyed & thereupon returnes to this
house the sd Conveyance and Ordr on Mr Mason for the
Payment of the Same.
Ordrd that Coll Ion Thompson & Mr Wm Hutchisson carry the
aboue Message to his Excy and Councill who returne & say
they have deliverd their Message.
Majr Tho: Smith brings into this house Mr Robt Masons
Bond for forty two pounds Three Shillings and Eight pence
for the payment of Several sumes of Tobacco more than what
was included in his other Bond & ordrd to be Lodged in the
hands of the Treasurer of the Eastern shore.
Ordrd that Mr George Ashman & Coll Hance Hanson goe
along wth Mr Iacob Moreland to his Excy & Councill & here
Mr Moreland give an Accott to his Exry & Councill of his
Negotiation concering the Lands at the Coole springs who
returne & say that they have Deliverd their Message & that
his Excy has been pleased to declare that what this house shall
further doe in relation theirof he will Concurr therewith
The honble Ion Courts & Iames ffrisby Esqrs Enter the
house & reports as follows

By his Excy the Govr & Councill in Assembly
Iuly 12th 1699:
It being represented to this board that the Rangers Lately
raised by his Excy for security of the ffrontiers on Potomack
