Put to the vote if the said Robt Grundy should be fined for
his neglect or not Carry in the affirmative.
Put to the Vote if he shall be fined Two thousand pounds
of Tobacco or four thousands pds of Tobacco.
Carryed by the Majority of voices for Two Thousand pds of
Tobacco.
An Act for Benefiting the Kings Subjects &c the first time
and Comitted for Amendment.
An Act for the better Administration of Iustice in the
Sevrall County Corts read the first time.
An Act for asscertaining what Damages shall be allowed on
protested Bills of Exchange read the first time
An Act prohibiting Trade wth the Indians for any flesh
Dead or alive Except Deer & wild fowle read

By the house of Delegates Iuly 12th 1699:

The Message by the honble Ion Hammond & Thomas
Tasker Esqr has been here reed: & read Resolved that Capt
Richd Hill Mr Samll Young Mr George Ashman Mr Wm Hutch-
isson Mr Thomas Greenfield Mr Walter Smith Mr Elisha Hall
Capt Philip Haskens & Mr Benja Hall or the Majr Part of them
be appoynted a Committe to Ioyne wth his Excy and his Majties
Honble Councill in adviseing & Concerting such Measures as
will Suppress any violence wch may be offired to this Prov-
ince by the Indians after the breaking up of this prsent Ses-
sions of Genll Assembly untill such time that the said Genll
Assembly can possibly be Convened and that A Bill be pre-
pared for the Same.

Iuly 12th 1699.

The houses Message this Morning sent by Mr Staley & Mr
Hicks has been here received read & Considered & it is very
well approved of that the Bill proposed should be prepared.
