they doe make their Applicacons to the Governor & Com-
ander in Cheife of the said plantacon respectiuely To whom
as Vice Admralls his Majty is pleased to cofnitt the Sole
proper power of impressing Seamen in any of his plantacons
in America or in Sight of any of any them you are therefore
hereby Required upon such applicacon made to you by any
of the Comanders of his Maj'ys said Shipps of Warr wthin the
afsd province of Maryland under your Governmt to take
care that the said Shipps of Warr be furnished wth the
number of Seamen that may be necessary for his Majty Service
on board them from time to time.
8. And for the Greater security of that province you are to
appoint fitt officers & Comanders in the Severall prtes of the
Country bordering upon the said Indians who upon any Inva-
tion may raise men & Armes to oppose them untill they shall
receive your Direccons therein
9: You shall cause a Survey to be taken of all the consid-
erable Landing places and harbours in the said province &
wth the Advice of his Majtys Covncill there Erect many of them
such fortificacons as shall be necessary for the security & ad-
vantage of that prouince wch shall be done at the publick
Charge of the Country not doubting of the chearefull concur-
rance of the Inhabitants thereunto for the comon security &
benefitt they will receive thereby.
10: You shall likewise soon after your Entrance upon the
Governmt of his Majtys sd province send ann Accot to his Majty
& to the Comrs for trade & plantacons of the prsent numbr of
Planters & Inhabitants men women & Children as well Mastrs
as Servts ffree & unffree & of the Slaves in eury respective
Countyes or Districts of the said province as allsoe a yearely
account of the increase & Decrease of them & how many of
them are fitt or oblidged to beare armes in the respectiue
Countyes or Districts aforesaid

11. You shall likewise take that a Genrall Survey be made
of all the sd province and of Each County in it & that an Exact
Map or Mapps be therevpon drawne and Transmitted to his
Maty and to the afsd Comrs for trade and plantations
12: You are allsoe wth the Assistance of the Councill &
Assemb: to find out the best means to facilitate & Incourage
the Converssion of negroes & Indians to the Christian Religion.
13. You are to recommend to the Councill & Assemb: the
reaiseing of the Stocks & building publick worke houses in
Convenient places for the Imploying of poore & indigent
people.
The house adjournes till to morrow Six of Clock
