A Bill for Ascerteining the Laws of this province read and
will pass
The following Message was p^rsented to the Board by Col
Iohn Thompson and Maj^r Thomas Ennalls Viz^t

By the house of Delegates Iuly the 22^d 1699

Resolved that Cap^t Richard Hill with all Convenient Speed
build and finish within the Porte of Annapolis and on such
Ground as his Ex^cy the Governo^r shall appoint a prison accord-
ing to the Demensions of the Reporte of the Comittee Ap-
pointed to Consider the building thereof and to be paid for
the Same so much as he shall reasonably deserve to be
adjudged by the Gen^ll Assembly of this Province out of the
publick Revenue of the Same if your Ex^cy and Councill shall
Concurr therewith

Gent Herewith I send a Coppy of the pattent of the
hon^ble William Blathwayte Esq^r Auditor Gen^ll of the planta-
tions who is a person of Great worth and hono^r and able to do
you many Good Offices in the station he stands and for his
great trouble and Care in discharge of that Imployment has
Gen^lly a Salary from most or all the plantacons Except this
place. I Therefore recomend it to your Consideration to
make him Some yearly Allowance of Sallary whereby you will
make him your friend and I am confident thereby do your
Selves a Signall piece of Service
