recd five hundred pds sterl and 150l sterl was allowed to the
said Col Greenbery out of the Revenue of this province.
That upon Reprsentation of the prmisses it being Conceived
that the sd Sr Edmund had no right to the said 500l did
returne 300l thereof back again to the use of this province and
his Excy Col Nicholson thereupon Caused the said Col Green-
bery to Enter into Engagemt to Returne the sd one hundred
and fifty pounds in Case the sd paymt should be not Allowed
by his Maty.
In Tender Consideracon whereof and forasmuch as your
Supplicant in right should have Enjoyed that place of prsident
from Govr Copleys Death whereby the sd Sume of 150l would
have Accrued to yor Supplicant in Compensacon of his Exer-
ciseing that trust and that the same is referred by their Excy
the Lds Iustices of England to yor Excy and Councill.
May it please yor Excy to Consider the prmisses and to Allow
your Supplicant the said Suffle of 150l in Compensation of
your Supplicants being so unjustly kept out of his said place
and his other great Wrongs & hardships according to the

Also the said Lds Iustices Order in Councill upon the sd Sr
Thomas Laurence's reprsentation to them vizt

Upon reading this day att the Board the following reprsen-
tation from the Councill of Trade Vizt

To their Excellencys the Lds Iustices

May it please Yor Excys
In obedience to your Excys Order in Councill Dated the 29th
of Sept last that we should Consider of and Reporte to your
Excys our opinion upon the petition of Sr Thomas Laurence
Barrt thereunto Annexed wherein he Claims a Right to one
hundred and fifty pounds (part of greater Sums raised by the
Assembly of Maryland for Supporte of the Governmt) now
remaining there indisposed of, we humbly reporte to yor Ex-
cellencys.
That upon the Death of Col Copley late Governor of that
