The house mett againe and were called over, and were
absent Cap^t Th^o Waughop, M^r Philip Clarke, M^r Iames Crau-
ford, Cap^t Philip Hoskins, M^r Benj^a Hall, M^r Iohn Ferrey, M^r
W^m Hutchinson and Maj^r W^m Barton, put to the vote that
for as much as M^r W^m Hutchison and Maj^r W^m Barton had
p^rsumtiously left the house whether they should be fyned for
such their contempt or past over. Carried in the affirmative,
put to the vote whether they should be fyned 500^l of Tobacco
or 1000^ls of Tob^o Carried by the Majority of voices for 500^l
of Tob^o

Ordered that 500^l Tobacco be deducted out of their Sall^ry
Resolved that the Vane, Globe, and other things thereunto
belonging that were sent for be paid for by the Country.
A Bill for appointing how publick officers shall recov^r their
dues accruing by their offices being comitted for amendm^t
was brought in and read and passed for engrossing.

By the house of Delegates Nov^r the 11^th 1698

Whereas there is in the hands of the publick Treas^r of the
Eastern Shoare the sum of 8480^l of Tob^o and in the hands of
the publick Treas^r of the Western Shoare the sum of 5337^l
of Tob^o this house humbly pray your Ex^cy that the same may
be applied towards defraying of the publick charge.

Ordered that the Comittee of Laws put in a clause in the
reviveing bill, that whereas the act made 1692 Entitled an Act
relating to Serv^ts and Slaves, being a ppetuall Law by mis-
take was put into the reviveing bill in Iuly 1696.
That it is the sense of this house that the putting the same
into the said reviveing Bill but for three years or to the end
