Wee the Comittee are of opinion that yellow pine with the
Sap out of it may be as proper as any wood. Oake being
apt to cast and to put the worke out of frayme.

This house have considered the Bill Entitled an Act for
promocon of Learning and advancement of his Maty^s ffree
Schoole of Maryland.
And that whereas the s^d Perry died Intestate the Lord Balte-
more as being Lord of the ffees may lay claime thereto there-
fore as to the whole matter ab^t M^r Perry's Lett^ry. We humbly
pray your Ex^cy and Councill that it may be omitted untill
address be made for his L^dpp: the Lord proprietarys Concur-
rence therein, but as to the rem^a part of the act this house is
willing to pass if your Ex^cy and Councill shall thinke fitt.

Put to the vote if the bill regulating Marriage &c shall be
amended or wholly rejected. Carried by the majority of voices
that it be rejected.

By the house of Delegates Nov^r the 10^th 1698.

Whereas his Ex^cy and Councill has been pleased to grant
that Eight hundred pounds Sterl: out of the publick Stock of
this Province shall be applied towards the defraying the pub-
lick charge of this province to be paid at 4^d Sterl: at 1000^lb
Tobacco.
It is recomended to the Councill whether they will have
their whole allowance in money or shall be appropriated
according to the seve^ll sumes of Tob^o to be paid in the Publick
Leavy and for such of the hon^ble Councill as will be willing to
have all theire allowance in money that they will be pleased
to signifie the same to this house
