for Engrossing.
A Bill Impowering Trustees to purchase Lands for the use
of the Coole Springs read the 3d time and passed for En-
grossing.
A Bill for ascertaineing the bounds of the Nantecoake
Indians, read the third time and past for Engrossing.
A Bill appointing how publick Officers shall recovr their
dues referred to the Comittee of Laws for Amendmt
A Bill Impowering the vestrymen &c to assess the par-
ishoners &c. read the 3d time and past for Engrossing.
A Bill for conveying Lres &c read the 3d time and past for
Engrossing.
A Bill agt Curseing and Swearing, read the 3d time and
past for Engrossing.
A Bill for regulating Marriages and granting Marriage
Licenses being recomended to this house.
This house does conceive for as much as Dr Bray hath been
long expected in this province but is not yet arrived that such
SettlenV be deferred till he arrives.

A Bill for Investing Iohn Gadesby &c. read twice
The house adjournes till one a Clock.

Eod die: The house mett againe and were called over and
were absent as before, as alsoe Wm Hutchison and Wm Barton.

By the house of Delegates Novr the 10th 1698.

Ordered that Mr Thomas Hicks, Major Iohn Lowe and Mr
John Bozman be appointed to Joyne with two of the honble
Councill whom his Excy shall appoint to Consult and agree of
what Timber to make the roofe of the church.
Ordered that the said psons carry the sd Message to his
Excy and Councill.
The honble Collo Iohn Addison and Thomas Brookes Esqr
enter the house and deliver Mr Speaker the following message

By his Excy the Govr and Councill in Assembly
Novr 9th 1698.

As to the bill proposed to repeale the Act for the Imposition
upon officers, it is thought adviseable that the sd Bill Expire
of it selfe which will be shortly neither is it usuall for Laws to
looke backward and remitt what is already done, likewise his
