This Board adjourned untill to morrow morning at eight of
the Clock.

Saterday Nov^r the 5^th 1698.

The Councill in Assembly Sate p^rsent as yesterday Came
M^r Rob^t Mason late publick Treasurer of the Western Shoare
and made Oath to his Treasurers Acco^t M^r James Sanders
and Colonel Ninion Beale being p^rsent from the House
The Board adjourned untill Munday morning att 8 of the
Clock.

Munday Novem^b the 7^th 1698.

The Councill in a Assembly Sate p^rsent as on Saterday His
Ex^cy is pleased to Ord^r the Clk of the Councill to go to M^r
Thomas Smithson publick Treasurer of the Easterne Shore
and to Comand him in his Ma^tys name that he Imediatly
attend him in Order to make oath to his Acc^ts of his Treasure-
ship.
The said M^r Smithson appears at the Boarde and says that
he has not any Acc^t made up for that M^r John West and M^r
Thomas Collier Navill Officers of Pacomoke and Willmstad'
have not Accompted

Whereupon his Ex^cy is pleased to Comand him to bring
what Acc^t he has forthwith to make Oath to
Then M^r Smithson withdrew for a while. And came againe
and made Oath to three Acc^ts one of the Nav^ll officers upon
Imposts for mony, one of Stock to the Free Schooles, and the
other of tob reed by him upon the Impositions on Offices &
withdrew.
His Ex^cy is pleased to give to the Reverend Doctor Tho^s
Bray Comissary of the Right Reverend Father in God Henry
Lord Bishop of London (provided he comes into this province
and the Act for Marriage Lycenses pass) for the good services
he has done in Collecting Lyberarys &c the mony and tob:
arrising on Marriage Lycenses since the 29^th of June 1697,
his Ex^cy haveing already given Doctor payne for the mayntey-
nance of his Brothers Child in this province what before
Accrew'd upon this Acc^t since his Ex^cys Gov^rnm^t
Then Came the following Messages from the house of
Delegates by M^r Saunders & Colonel Beale M^r Miller M^r
Harris and eight more of the houses Members Viz^t
To his Ex^cy Francis Nicholson Esq^r Cap^t Gen^ll Gov in
Chief in and over his Ma^tys province of Maryland and the
hon^ble Councill.
