Wee have resolved that the honble Thos Tench and James
Frisby Esqrs should be Joyned to a Comittee of such members
of yor house as you shall thinke fitt to appoint to inspect the

which are by him recomended to be examined and stated
And that Instructions be given to that Comittee That they
have recourse to the following Remarques Vizt upon Mr Samll
Watkins Acct that by Comon Reporte Mr Sheffield imported
about 50 negroes tho Mr Watkins gives the Country Crd' only
for 32.
That the Comitte inquere whether Major Whittington paid
the Ballance of his Treasurers Accot to the Country.
To inquire into the Sev'all Accts the Sherriffs have given the
publick Treasurers of the Imposition tob: on offices.
That the Accts of Furrs to the Free Schools be extracted
and made up aparte from the Country Revenue.
And that the Charge of Building the Court house may be
drawne out fair that it may appear for the Satisfaction of the
province.
That the sd Comittee take a particular Acct of what Servts
and Negroes have been imported this year and from whence
the Servts came, his Excy being required by the Lords of the
Councill of Trade and plantations to send them such Acct
Herewth is sent you the pet. of the Rang's on potomeck late
under the Comand of Capt Richd Brightwell which is refferred
to the Consideracon of yor house for their Reliefe.
Also the pet. of the Rangers in Baltimore County which is
referr'd to yor Considracon.

It being represented this day in Councill that Mr George
Tubman Minister of Charles County by a pretended Lycense
to him granted lately got himself marryed to a young Woman
in Charles County

His Excy is pleased to say tht he thinks it highly necessary
to recorhend to the house of Delegates to settle the power of
granting Lycenses in the Revrend Dr Thomas Bray the Rt
Reverend the Ld Bishop of Londons Comissary in this Pro-
vince And that a Law be drawne up ascertayning the forme of
a Lycense, that the power be Comitted only to the Minister in
a County or to the Chief Justice where no minister is resident
Who shall not grant Lycenses to any of their County That
