Barrets Orders and carried before you, as if under Orders
from you, but that you had given no such Orders. We do
not know what could be the Occasion of it, but think it ought
to be inquired into.

Thursday 14th May 1778.

Present as on yesterday.
Ordered That the Western shore Treasurer Pay to James
Brice Esqr two hundred & forty five Pounds for his Attenda
in Council 140 Days a 35 /
Ordered that the Western shore Treasurer pay to John
Aron twelve Pounds due him & three Pounds five shillings
for the use of Henry Cain per Accts passed by the Aud. Genl.
Ordered That the Agents for Purchasing Provisions in
Montgomery and Frederick Counties deliver to Mr George
Murdock Issuing Commissary in Frederick Town all the Salt
Provisions purchased by them in said Counties.
Ordered That the Sheriff of Montgomery County pay to
Robert Owen Purchaser of Provisions in said County five
hundred Pounds on Account and for the purpose of purchas-
ing Provisions.
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to the Officers,
Sailors & Marines on board the Independence Galley Sundry
Cloathing per Lists sent.
That the Western Shore Treasurer Pay to Magdalen Trip-
olet one hundred and forty five Pounds, fourteen shillings and
ten Pence for the rent of her Houses for Barracks in Baltimore
p Acct passed by the A Genl
That the said Treasurer Pay to John Sears five Pounds ten
shillings per Account passed by the Aud. General.
That the said Treasurer Pay to Ignatius Simms Fifty seven
pounds to be delivered over to Francis Burgess per Acct
passed by the A Genl
That the said Treasurer Pay to Capt. Joseph Maccubbin
fourteen Pounds thirteen shillings and three Pence for the use
of the Company lately under the Command of George Watts
per Pay roll examined & passed by the A Genl
That the said Treasurer Pay to James Chaplin nine Pounds
for the use of Lodowick Keedy a Private in Capt. John Rey-
nolds Compy per Account passed by the Aud. General.
