Present as on Yesterday
Commission issued to James Haynie elected Sheriff of
Somerset County and also to Thomas Williams elected Sheriff
of Prince Georges County
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to John Wil-
mot junr one hundred and seventeen Pounds due to him per
Account passed by the Depy Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to James Roper two hundred
and twenty five Pounds due him per Account passed by the
Depy Aud.
That Capt George Keeports deliver to Colo Richard Dallam
on his Application what Powder he may think he can exchange
for wheat

Mr Dallam ! In Council Annapolis 22d Octr 1779
Sir.
If you can exchange the Salt you have in your Hands be-
longing to the State or Continent for Wheat (Allum Salt, one
Bushel for three of Wheat, other imported Salt, 1 Bushel for
2 1/2 of Wheat, Country Salt, I Bushel for 2 of Wheat) we think
it advantageous for the Service and desire you'll do it

In Council Annapolis 22d Octr 1779
Sir
We inclose you a Permit for the Schooner Willing Maid,
as you desire; we cannot with any Propriety give a general
Permission. Colo Griffin, as he passed through this Place, before
the Recommendation of Congress, delivered us Letters from
the Lieut Governor and Board of War of Virginia, requesting
they might purchase and export for their State Use, about
5000 Barrls of Flour, our prohibitory Act not leaving us the
Power, and Col. Griffin agreeing that about 2000 Barrls would
