nine Pounds, ten shillings in Cloathing for the use of Joseph
Thomas, Four Pounds in Cloathing for the use of William
Grace, Twelve Pounds ten shillings for the use of John
McCurdy Twelve Pounds, ten shillings for the use of Charles
Perry all 9 Mo Sold" in the 2d Regimt Dischd and Twenty nine
Pounds ten shillings in Cloathing for the use of John Elvin a
9 Mo Soldr in the 6 Regt Dischd due them by the Act of
Assembly to procure Troops for the A. Army
That the said Commissary deliver to Serj. Joshua Lamb of
the 1 Regt 1 Coatee 1 pair Overalls and 1 pair Shoes for a
Recruit enlisted by him for said Regimt
That the western shore Treasurer pay to Michael Wallace
Surgeon of the Ist Maryd Regimt Two thousand Dollars in
leiw of the Articles allowed to him for the present year accord-
ing to the late Act of Assembly.
That the said Treasurer pay to Capt John Hardman of the
2d Maryland Regimt Two thousand Dollars in leiw of the
Articles allowed as aforesaid
Ordered that John Bullen Quarter Master furnish the Clerk
of the General Court with a Waggon to remove such of the
Records to Annapolis as he may think proper and that the
Waggoners take with them Forrage for their Horses and
Provision for themselves that the Public may not be burthened
with a greater Expence than what is absolutely necessary
Commissions issued to Samuel Watkins appd 1 Lieut,
William Harwood 2d Lieut & Robert Paine Davis Ens. of
Capt Thomas Watkins Co in the West River Battalion of
Militia in Ann Arundel County

In Council Annapolis 17th Augt 1779
Sir.
We inclose you a Copy of an Act of Assembly passed the
Day before yesterday in Favor of our Troops, by which you'll
see that, for the Present year, instead of all former State Pro-
visions a Sum of Money is given. We wish you to communi-
cate it to the seven Maryland Regiments and the Maryland
Part of the German Regiment as soon as possible & cause
Returns to be made to us of the Names of the Commissd &
Staff Officers and of the Number of non commissioned
Officers & Privates that we may be enabled to issue the
Money agreeable to the Intention of the Assembly. We think
it would be the best Way for the Officers in general to appoint
some Person to receive their Money and for the Pay masters
of the Regimts to appoint the same or some other Person to
