[Council to Capt. Keeports.]

In Council Annapolis 19th June 1779
Sir.
Hannan's Charge for the Tent Poles is high, he says it
includes the Iron Work and that we gave him formerly from
12/6 to 22/6 we are sorry that so many were bespoke & that
the cheapest Workman was not sought & the Price agreed on.
As things are circumstanced, we do not see how we can, with
Justice. Stop the Payment of his Account & have therefore

paid him. You mentioned that Mr Calhoun would take what
of the Poles we do not want, we wish to keep sufficient only
for the Tents we have & that Mr Calhoun, if he wants, would
take the rest.

Present as on Saturday except Thomas Sim Lee Esqr
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to John
Sands, Sixteen Pounds, seventeen shillings and six Pence due
him per Acct passed by the Depy Aud.
Commission of a Letter of Marque and Reprisal issued to
Thomas Walker commander of the Sloop Dispatch 40 Tons
burthen mounting no Guns, Belonging to John Johnson and
Joseph Dowson of Annapolis.

Tuesday 22d June 1779

Present as on Yesterday
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Francis
Rawlings one hundred and ten Pounds eleven shillings and
three pence due him per Account passed by the Depy Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to Robert Nixon Thirty Pounds
due him per Account passed by the Depy Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to his Excy Thomas Johnson
Esq. Two hundred & eight Pound six shillings & Eight pence
for 1 Mo Allowance as Governr due the 9 Inst.
That the said Treasurer pay to James Roper Twenty
Pounds due him per Acct passed by the Depy Aud.
