Tuesday 15th June 1779

Present as on Yesterday.

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Serjt
William Smoot of the Ist Regt two thousand five hundred
Dollars to be delivered over to Lieut Samuel McPherson of the
1 Regt and also two thousand five hundred Dollars to be
delivered over to Lieut William Bruce of the 1 Regimt to be
expended in the recruiting Service
That the said Treasurer pay to Joseph Colely Twenty
Pounds, five shillings & six Pence in lieu of Cloathing due him
as a 9 Mo Soldier, per Act of Assembly to procure Troops the
American Army
That the said Treasurer pay to William Man Fifteen Pounds
for the use of Elizabeth Man due her per Account passed by
the Depy Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut William Judah one
thousand two hundred & ten Pounds, thirteen shillings & nine
pence on Account.
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Lieut William
Judah 23 pair of shoes, 1 Blanket, 2 Hats & 15 pair Overalls
for the use of the Baltimore Matrosses in the Galley Con-
queror
Commissions of Letters of Marque & Reprisal issued to
Jacob Walters Commander of the Schooner Camden 50 Tons
burthen, mounting 2 Carriage Guns, 2 Swivels, 2 Howitz & 6
small Arms belonging to John Sterett & Co Baltimore, and
also to Alexander Cain Comr of the Schooner Dragon, 40
Tons burthen, mounting 2 Carriage Guns, 2 Swivels and 14
small Arms belonging to Hugh Young & Comy Baltimore

In Council Annapolis 15th June 1779
Sir.
We have this Moment received a Letter from Colo Wallace,
who was entrusted with the Arms which were carried to Cam-
bridge, dated at Fredericksburg the 13th Inst informing us that
he had heard nothing of them since he left this Place and
expressing great Apprehensions for their Safety. We wish to
know when you sent them off" & by what Opportunity, as there
are 1500 Men at Petersburg destined for South Carolina and
waiting for Arms only. We hear there are some of the
Enemy's Privateers high up the Bay and if the Arms are not
already sent, have them put on Board a Vessel to go under
