add Genl Clinton was on board himself, a circumstance men-
tioned by the person Col. Ford saw; this however seems very
improbable.

Thursday 13th May 1779

Present as on yesterday
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Capt
Nathan Williams of the 6 Regimt Three thousand Dollars to be
expended in the recruiting Service he being appointed by
Genl Smallwood & having his Instructions of the 9 April for
that purpose
That the said Treasurer pay to Thomas Beatty Four Pounds,
ten shillings for the use of Ann Mary Weller, Ten Pounds,
ten shillings & five Pence for the use of Abraham Haff, Twenty
three Pounds, fifteen shillings for the use of Daniel Viands
and also the further Sum of Eighty nine Pounds, ninteen shil-
lings for the use of Capt Richard Haff & his Compy per Accts
passed by the Depy Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to William Jones, Fourteen
Pounds, ten shillings for the use of John Beaver who was a 9
Mo Soldr in the 3d Maryld Regimt Discharged bala due him in
lei n of Cloathing allowed by the Genl Assembly in the Act to
procure Troops for the American Army and also the further
Sum of Twelve Pounds due himself for enlisting 2 Recruits
per Certificate Allowed
That the said Treasurer pay to Clement Beall, Five Pounds
for the use of Jacob Eppracht & Thirty seven Pounds, ten shil-
lings for the use of William Davis per Accounts passed by the
Aud. Genl
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Boston Bonner a 9
Mo Soldr in the 7 Regimt the amt of Twenty nine Pounds, ten
shillings in Cloathing due him by an Act of Assembly to pro-
cure Troops for the American Army

Friday 24th May 1779

Present as on yesterday
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Daniel
Carroll Esquire One thousand and twelve Pounds, ten shillings
to de delivered over to Thomas Richardson and to be by him
expended in the Purchase of wheat, Flour & Bread
David Shaw who is represented to have been drafted from
the Militia of Dorchester County to serve for the space of 9
Months, has discharged that Service on board the Chester
Galley in the Service of this State & he is hereby Discharged.
