Saturday 8th May 1779

Present as on Yesterday
Ordered that the Commissary of Stores deliver to Richard
Downes a 9 Mo Soldr in the 7 Regt Discharged Twenty six
Pounds in Cloathing due him by an Act of Assembly to pro-
cure Troops for the American Army
That the said Commissary of Stores deliver to Serj Joshua
Lamb of the Ist Regt 1 Coatee, 1 pr Overalls & 1 Hat to each
of John Bowen & Thomas Stallins & Robert Lanken & also
1 pr Shoes for Lanken
That the said Commissary of Stores deliver to Lieut Wil-
liam Judah two Reams Cartridge Paper for the use of the
Matrosses in Baltimore Town
That the western shore Treasurer pay to George Robinson
Sixty Pounds per Acct passed by the Aud Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut William Judah one
thousand and Forty seven Pounds, ten shillings due him p Acct
passed by the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut William Judah twenty
thousand Pounds to be by him delivered over to James
Govane to be expended in the purchase of Wheat, Bread &
Flour for the Use of the Continental Army & Accounted for
four hundred Pounds to him on Account

In Council Annapolis 8th May 1779.
Sir.
We send you by Mr Judah, twenty thousand Pounds, towards
enabling you to discharge your Contracts for wheat &ca for
the Continent; we expect a further Sum in a few Days. We
shall be glad to hear how you go on in collecting and manu-
facturing what you have bought and request you will imme-
diately after the 20th Inst furnish us with an Account of your
Purchase up to that Time, mentioning where the Wheat &
Flour is. We want it with all Expedition to be in a situation
to be shipped off in Flour.
