Tuesday 20th April 1779

Present as on Yesterday
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Capt
Jonathan Morris of the 7th Maryland Regimt three thousand
Dollars to be expended in the recruiting Service he being
appointed by General Smallwood and having his Instructions
of the 9 Inst, for that purpose
That the said Treasurer pay to Capt Nathan Williams of
the 6 Regimt Three thousand Dollars to be expended in the
recruiting Service
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut, Samuel McPherson of
of the 1 Regt two thousand Dollars to be expended in the
recruiting Service
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut Edward Wright of
the 7th Regimt Three thousand Dollars, to be expended in the
recruiting Service
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut John Bailey of the 3d
Regimt Four thousand Dollars to be expended in the recruit-
ing Service
That the said Treasurer pay to Jesse Littell, Three Pounds,
fifteen shillings per Acct passed by the Depy Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut Armstrong of the 3d
Regt two hundred Dollars, the Bounty to James Jones enlisted
by him & the further Sum of Sixteen Dollars for enlisting
Jones,
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Lieut
Bailey Thirty nine Pounds, sixteen shillings for the Use of
Samuel Chester p Acct passed by the D. Aud.
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to William Loveless
a 9 Mo Soldr in the 1 Reg. & reinlisted thirteen Pounds, Eigh-
teen Shillings and four Pence in Cloathing due him by an Act
of Assembly to procure Troops for the American Army
That the said Commissary deliver to Lieut. Wright, of the
7 Maryld Regimt 3 pair Shoes and 3 pr Overalls

In Council 20th April 1779
Sir.
The Assistance given in this State last year, towards recruit-
ing Genl Pulaski's Legion, was in Consequence of a particular
Resolution of the General Assembly, from the Terms of which,
the Intention of the Assembly seems to have been, that the
Liberty of inlisting within this State for that Corps should only
continue 'til the Number of Men then appointed to be raised
by a proportion on each County should be compleated. In
