Prisoners whenever called on. The great Loss to the
Individuals and the Public in having our Farmers taken from
Home for six or eight Weeks in the summer Season, induced
us to empower the Lieutenant to inlist a Guard on a pretty
high Bounty, but we doubt the Success of it, and much wish
that Colo Rawlings's Plan was adopted; besides the Advan-
tages already hinted, it would save the Consumption of a great
Deal of Public Provision, which cannot be procured at Fort
Frederick without great Difficulty and Expence. We shall
be obliged to you for an Answer by Capt Campbell who is
the Bearer of this

Present as on Yesterday
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Colo Moses
Rawlings, one hundred and fifty Pounds for the Use of Lieut
Adamson Tannehill of the Rifle Regimt and also the further
Sum of One hundred and fifty Pounds for the Use of John
Reid Quart. Mast, to said Regt due them by a Resolve of the
Genl Assembly
That the said Treasurer pay to Daniell Carroll Esqr Two
hundred & sixty four Pounds, due him for his Attendance in
Council
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Lieut
George Armstrong of the 3d Maryland Regimt two thousand
Dollars the Bounty of 1 Recruit, Peregrine Howard enlisted
into the said Regimt and also the further Sum of Sixteen
Dollars allowed by the General Assembly for enlisting
That the said Treasurer pay to Colo Moses Rawlings, two
thousand Dollars to be applied towards the Recruiting Service,
and also the further Sum of one thousand Pounds to be
expended in the Purchase of Stores for the Use of the Officers
in the Rifle Regimt they being on a Detached Service at
Fort Pit
That the said Treasurer pay to Colo Moses Rawlings two
thousand Pounds to be delivered over to Richard Brooke of
Montgomery County for the Purchase of Wheat and Flour for
the Use of the Continental Army
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut, Thomas Cromwell,
Five thousand Dollars on Account of the Recruiting Service;
he being appointed by General Smallwood & having his
Instructions of the 9th Int. for that purpose
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut, Thomas Cromwell,
Forty Eight Pounds, fifteen Shillings due him per Account
passed by the Depy Aud.
