That the said Treasurer pay to Thomas Maddux seven
Pounds, seven shillings for the Use of Lieut. James Elzey &
part of a Company stationed as a Guard over Goods at Prin-
cess Anne per Acct passed by the Aud. Genl
Mr Lethrbury from the House of Delegates delivers to his
Excellency ar Resolve Discontinuing the fitting out the New
Gallies
Permission is hereby granted to John Clapham an Inhabitant
of this State to go with his Family consisting of himself his
seven Children and a Woman Attendant named Emelia
Brown into the City of New York in order to get a Passage
from thence to Great Britain on his obtaining a proper Pass
for that Purpose for which he is hereby Recommended

Wednesday 24th March 1779

Present as on yesterday
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to John
Johnson Twenty nine Pounds, five shillings due him per Acct
passed by the D. Audr
Commissions issued to John Dennis, John Selby, Nehemiah
Holland, Ebenezer Handy, Thomas Purnell, Sinepuxt William
Hopewell, James Selby, Joshua Townsend John Purnell
Robins, John Postley, Josiah Mitchell, John Panamore, William
Handy son of Saml John Pope Mitchell, Isaac Layfield,
William Stevenson and Isaac Houston appointed Justices of
the Peace for Worcester County and also to John Dennis,
John Selby, Nehemiah Holland, John Purnell Robins & Isaac
Houston appointed Judges of the Orphan's Court for Wor-
cester County

Thursday 25th March 1779

Present as on Yesterday
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Thomas
Mackall Twenty nine Pounds, Eight Shillings & six pence for
the use of Colo William Fitzhugh p Accts passed by the Aud'
Genl
That the said Treasurer pay to Robert Reith Fourteen
Pounds Eleven shilllings & Eight Pence for 1 mo Atta as
Messenger to the Governor and Council to the 23d Instant.
Commissions issued to William Winder, Peter Waters,
John Stewart, Levin Wilson Gilliss Polk, John Williams,
Joseph Venables, John Span Conway, Henry Jackson, Levin
Woolford, Josiah Dashiell, Henry Miles, George Waters,
William Stevens & William McBird appointed Justices of the
