Ordered that the western shore Treasurer Pay to William
Welsh twelve Pounds ten shillings for the hire of his Boat per
Acct passed by the Aud. Genl
Commission of a Letter of Marque and Reprisal issued to
John Burrows Master of the Sloop called the Washington
mounting 8 Carriage Guns, 6 Swivels and twenty Muskets,
navigated by 20 Men burthen 60 Tons belonging Isaac Van-
bibber, David Weems and John Muir.
Commission issued to Samuel Harvy Howard appointed
one of the Coroners for Ann Arundel County in the room of
Francis Fairbrother resigned.

Tuesday 4 August 1778.

Present as on yesterday.
Ordered that the western shore Treasurer Pay to Zephaniah
Turner eight Pounds, three shillings and two Pence for the
use of Capt. John Mackall Balance of Account passed by the
Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer Pay to Zeph Turner nine Pounds
ten shillgs and also the further Sum of seventeen Pounds,
fourteen shillings and three Pence for the use of John Glass-
ford for House Rent and Damages per Accounts passed by
the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer Pay to William Dare Thirty four
Pounds fifteen shillings Balance of Acct passed by the Principal
Cl to the Aud. Genl
That the said Treasurer Pay to John Peter Lyon fourteen
Pounds for the use of Haner Lyle & Co per Acct passed by
the Prinl Cl to the Aud. Genl

Wednesday 5th August 1778.

Present as on yesterday.
Whereas it is represented by the Continental Quarter Mas-
ter within this State that fifty Waggons and Teams are neces-
sary for the Carriage of Provisions Stores and necessaries from
Washington County to Carlile for the Subsistance and Accom-
odation of the Troops carrying on an Expedition against the
British and Indian Enemies to the westward and that the same
cannot be obtained without impressing. This Board therefore
Request the Magistrates of Washington County to issue War-
rants for the impressing the said Number of Waggons, Teams
and Drivers for the said Service and the Constables in the
Execution of the said Warrants are directed to take those who
