State. We request you will make Inquiry about them and
bring them with any other Stores there belonging to this
State to Annapolis with you

We inclose an Ensign's Commission to William Garland
who, we desire may march the drafted Militia from Talbot
and Queen Ann's County to Head Quarters as soon as well

In Council 31st July 1778.
Sir.
We have issued the Commissions as you desired, except in
one Instance which Colo Anderson says, was a Mistake, but
you have omitted to mention Officers for Capt Elliott's Com-
pany. Inclosed you have Copies of our former Letters to
you: as you have no Officer drafted in Queen Ann and the one
drafted in Talbot does not march, we have, according to the
Act, appointed William Garland of Talbot County, under whom,
we request the drafted Militia from Talbot and Queen Ann's
County may be marched

In Council 31st July 1778.
Sir.
A Petition is presented to us from Capt Wm Turpin's Com-
pany of Militia complaining of his being appointed and re-
questing Huet Nutter, who was formerly elected Captain, to
be put in his Place. We see that Mr Nutter was appointed
first. Lieut, on issuing the Commissions last fall, and that in
January, Mr John Philips appointed in his stead. We do not
