Friday 26th June 1778

Prest as on Yesty except his Excellency, Edward Lloyd
Esqr attended
Ordered That the Western Shore Treasurer pay to Mark
Alexander Eighty six pounds per Account passed by the Aud
Genl
That the said Treasurer Pay to Robert John Smith seven
hundred and seventeen Pounds, four shillings for making
Soldiers Cloaths per Acct passed by the A G.
That the said Treasurer pay to Allen Quynn one hundred
and thirty Pounds six shillings and six Pence due to him per
Acct passed by the Aud. Genl
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Capt. Ely Dorsey
of the second Regiment Sagathy sufficient for a Coat, Striped
Linen for two Waistcoats Russia Sheeting for two pair
Breeches with Trimmings and Linnen for two Shirts.

Sir
I have the Pleasure to communicate to your Excellency the
following Letter written by Genl Arnold at Philadelphia 24th
inst. & read in Congress this Day
The City of Philadelphia was evacuated the 18th inst. The
main Body of the Enemy's Army was at the black Horse,
seven miles beyond Mount Holly, last Night; their Movements
are very slow (about seven or eight Miles p Day) our Army
was at Prince Town, & in advance last Night, moving on
towards the Enemy, with Design of Improving any favorable
Opportunity of attacking them
Near four hundred Deserters from the Enemy have arrived
at this Place The Rear of the Enemy's Fleet was yesterday at
Reedy Island; two Divisions are gone down the River to Sea
The Quarter Master, Commissary & Clothier Generals have
contracted with the Merchants here, for a quantity of Goods
for the use of the Army B Arnold. I have the Honor to be
with the highest Sentiments of Respect. Yr Excellency's
most obedient
& very hble Servt

Reith eight Pounds, six shillings and eight Pence due to him
for one Months Salary as Messenger due the 23d Instant
