      Lib. H. D. convenient, and bestow'd upon them Ten dollars to drink the

      Whitehall Kings Health with at Christmas and does think it for his

            Mats and the Countreys Service that the two men and officer

            aded in July last be Continued at the Garrison untill further

            Ordr and it is hereby Ordered accordingly.

     

     

                    December the 14th 1696.

      

           The Councill again Sate and were prsent.

            His Exncys      His Exncy is pleased to Represent to the Board

            Reprsenta-    that his Mats Province of Pensilvania adjoyning to

            Province of this his Mats Province of Maryland does generally

            Pensilvania

      Whitehall &ca       harbour and Entertain Privateers and Receive and

            Encourage all manner of Runaway Seamen, Serv

            ants and negroes, to the very great Grieuance of the Province

            and the Merchants and others Trading here, therefore is

            pleased to propose whether it may not be for his mats Service

            to Represent the whole State of the matter to his Maty. for

            Redress producing Severall Deposicons taken in Relacon

            thereto for proofe thereof, to wch his Mats honrble Councill do

            Assent and Agree and Ordered thereon that the Jus

            tices of the provll Court be likewise Consulted therein;

            as likewise that Coppyes of the sd Opinion and Report

        p. 437  be sent to the Severall County Courts to be Read

            in Janry Court next for the Justices and Grand Juries to Give

            their Opinion thereon likewise the which are afterwards to be

            Return'd unto his Exncy at the Port of Annapolis with all

            Convenient Speed.

     

           The Same Came Reported as followes, Vizt.

     

      Whitehall The Justices of the Provll Court doe Approve hereof.
