      The Report of the State house. The Report of Severall

    Persons appointed by his Exncy the Governr and the provll p. 432

    Court to View the New Court House and Consider what

    Methods must be taken for securing the same against the

    Weather.

                The Persons appointed Vizt.

   

      The honrble Thomas Brooke Esqr and Coll John Courts of

    his Mats honrble Councill.

    Majr Edward Dorsey

    Mr Willm Hemsley Burgesses of Assembly

    Mr Wm ffreeman

Mr Henry Crofts      Bricklayers.

    Mr Alexandr Graves

   

      William Biaden appointed Clerk to draw up this Report,

    In Consideracon the Weightiest part of the Work is done.

    We find that the House is two Thirds done not only as to the

    Work but alsoe the Charge thereof.

      That in Case Colonel Herman do not forthwith Send the

    laths Shingles and other Materialls for Covering the House

    and immediately proceed to doe the same Care must be taken

    and persons agreed with and imployed to cover it with

    planck at his Charge. That it is absolutely necessary that

    the Door Cases Cornish and Window iframes be immediately

    secur'd by priming them and clapboarding up the Windowes

    and Door Cases to keep the Weather off.

      That in Case Coll: Herman does not vigorously proceed to

    goe on and ffinish the Work that some other Methods be

    taken and persons Agreed with to doe the same at his

    Charge.

      Lastly that Colonell Herman have immediate Notice thereof:

    Comunicacon

    abt the State the Workmen asked what Surne of money they

    House  thought would be Required to ffinish the House

    according to the Contract which was Read unto them, who do

    say that they believe abt 400 ll will perfectly finish it, they are

    asked if in Case Coll: Herman had minded his business and

    lost no time, but had alway's kept hands tendance and pro

    vided materialis Sufficient whether the House might not have
