             Ordr abt Mr Vpon the Representacön & Complaint of the

             Wriothesleys honrble Sr Thomas Laurence Baront Secretary agt

             Custody of the Sherriff Mr Henry Wriothesley Cheif Clerk of the provinciall

             of Ann Arrll Court of this province how that the sd Wriothesley

             Co (without any Reguard to his Office, or to the ffaith

             full discharge of that Trust by the sd Sr Thomas, reposed in

             him) hath carelessly Neglected the Execution of his sd Office

             in omiting to Enter up the Judgmts process and proceedings

             had and taken before the Severall Courts held, since Novr last

             was a Twelmonth, to the great abuse of the Governmt and to

             the Loss and damage of the Severall persons intrested therein

             besides the detrimt which may Ensue to the sd Sr Thomas

             through means thereof; Ordered therefore that the Sherriff of

             Ann Arrll County do upon Sight hereof take into his Custody

             the sd Henry Wriothesley so that he suffer him not in any wise

             to depart or goe from without the Limits of the Town & Port

             of Annapolis, untill he shall have made up Enter'd and ffin

             ished all manner of Process, proceedings and Judgmts whatso

             ever passed &cca in that Court dureing his Officiating the

             aforesa Office; and untill Sr Thomas be Satisfyed of his having

             so done, whereof the sd Sherriff is not to fail giving due heed

             to this Ordr as he will Answer the Contrary at his perill.

         By his Exncy the Governr &cca Novr 14th 1696.

             Ordr to the Whereas Mr Richd Sowter of Dorchestr County

             Sherriff of Dorchester Attorney of my Lady Eawden hath been sent to by

             Co: to take two or three Expresses to be and appear at the Port

             Mr Sowter into Cus- of Annapolis in Ordr to Attend a late Audit appointed

             tody &cca by the provll Court of this Province betwixt the sd

             Lady Bawden and Coll Wm Diggs, whereby a finall End might

             be made thereof, but through means of the sd Sowters non

             appearance, nothing is yet done therein for wch said neglect

             and Contempt his Exncy is pleased to Ordr as it is hereby

             Ordered that the Sherriff of the sd County do (upon Sight

             hereof) take into his custody the Sd Sowter, so tht he send him

             over undr Safe & Secure conduct unto the port of Annapolis

             to be here by the ffirst day of December next to answer the

             sd Contempt &cca and perfect that Affair.
