         To his Exncy the Governr & Councill &cca

   

    Mr Attorney In Obedience to this Command wee humbly Sig

    & Sollicitors . .

    Report abt nifye our Opinion that if it appears that by means

    issuing a of the Sd Records Sd Hemsley creates disquiet and

    Warrt for the sd Records trouble to the good people of the County, The

   

    &Cca Goverrf and Councill may issue a Warrant for the

    Seizing the sd Records Upon his Refusall to deliver them;

    The Originall purchase of them being illegall and unwarrant

    able which is humbly submitted to yor EXnCY by

      The sd Hemsley being sent for and the matter fully Debated

    he is Ordered to consider thereof and to bring an Answer p. 410

    thereto in writing to morrow Morning.

   

      ffrancis Nicholson Esq Capt Genll & Governr in Cheif of

    his Mats Province of Maryland.

              To       of Somerset County.

   Blank Corn. Whereas by one Act .of Parliamt made in the 5th

         for year of King Charles the Second intituled an Act

   

    Navll Officer at the inlet for the Encouragemt of Trade, amongst other things

    in Somerset it is Enacted for the better prevention of frauds tht

    County all masters and Commanders of Ships & Vessells

   

    coming into any Land, Island, Plantation, Colony, Terretories

    or places belonging to his Maty his Heirs & Successors shall

    make known to the Governr of such Land, Island, plantation

    &ca or such other person or Officer as shall be by him there-

    unto Authorized and appointed, in pursuance whereof and for

    the better Execution of the sd Act & other Rules Contained in

    severall Acts of Parliamt relating to the Duty of a Navll Officr

    as also the Severall Laws of this Province I do hereby Authorize

    & appoint you the sd to be Depty Navll Officer at the

    Inlet upon the Sea side in the County aforesd under Majr Robt

    King Navll Officer of Pocomoke District within the sd province

    with full power and Authority to Exercise the severall powers

    therein Contain'd & to observe all such directions as you shall

    from time to time Receive from the sd Majr King, relating to

    the Duty of the sd Office, and all Officers Civill and Military

    and his Mass Loving Subjects are hereby desired and Com

    manded to be Aiding and Assisting to you the sd

    in the Execution of yor Office, you having first taken a
