   but the aforesd Orphan knowne by the Name of Elizabeth Lib. C. B.

   Longman; and that now Nicholas Waterman of the aforesd

   County hath made Entrance vpon a Tract of Land of the said

   Orphan (as may appeare by Patent) to the great devastation

   of the Timber as well as the Land and great damage of the

   Orphan, and for this cause your humble Petitionr in behalfe of

   the Orphan humbly requests that the said Nicholas Waterman

   may be brought to Justice & a course taken as your Honors in

   your Wisdome shall thinke convenient for a speedy Redress,

   and yor humble Per as in duty obliedged Shall pray

  

     Ordered that Mr Edward Batson make Returne of the Cer

   tificate of Resurvey by him made for Nicholas Waterman to

   the Clerk of this Board forthwith; and that the Petition of

   Robert Lockwood on behalfe of the said Waterman together

   with the Order thereon be producead at this Board the next

   Councill that the whole Proceedings thereon may be inspected,

   and then the Petr shall have further Answer in the Premisses.

  

   Capt James It is this day Ordered in Councill that Comission

     Bigger made Ranger on be prepared to constitute Capt James Bigger of Cal-

   West side vert County Ranger on the West side Petuxant River

    within the said County, he giveing Security to their

  

   Co:    Mats in the Sunie of One hundred Pounds Stll as well

   for the due & just performance of his Duty in the Execution

   of his said Comission when by him received, as alsoe for his p. 6z

   strict observeing & keeping these following Rules & Orders,

   Vizt.

     1: That what Unmarked wild horses, Mares or Colts he

   the sd James Bigger. shall take vp for the Use of the King by

   Vertue of his said Comission, shall not be turned out into the

   fforrest again, nor marked by the Ranger as formerly, but

   mediately (or as soon as an oportunity presents) exposed to

   Sale & Vended—This Board being of Opinion that the same

   will be a suitable and proper Method and course, and more to

   their Maties service & advantage.

     2: That he the said James Bigger shall (when required by

   this Board) give a just & true Account vpon Oath of all such

   Sales by him to be made as aforesd_Reserveing a third part

   of the Profits, for his Care & trouble therein, to his owne

   proper Use & behoofe.

     Read the following Petition, Vizt.

  

   To the Honble Nicholas Greenberry Esqr President of their

      Mats Councill & the Rest of the Honble their Mats Councill

      for the Province of Maryland.

  

     The humble Petition of ffrancis Malden of the Clifts in Cal-
