Justices for Tryall of the said Ship, whoe are to meet at the Lib. C. B. City of St Maryes the 27th day of this instant ffebruary to heare and determine the same that speedy Justice therein may be done, And further that all possible care be taken to give due Notice to the said Mr Randolph that he then & there appeare to make good such his Seizure in Order to her Acquittall or condemnation, and that in case of the said Mr Randolphs Non- appearance, the said Mr Tench give security to Mr Plater the Kings Collector in the Sume of Eight hundred pounds sterling to stand & abide Tryeall either in England or this Province as the said Mr Randolph shall see fit, and that vpon such Security given the Seizure thereby in the interim be suspended.
Then was read the following Petition, Vizt
To the Honble the President & the Rest of the honble their p. 48 Majties Councill of Maryland. Humbly The Petition of John LLewellin that yor Petitioner Sheweth Mr LLewellins haveing for some years Officiated and executed the Pet &Ordr place of Clerk of Talbot County Court and therein Talbot contracted & made to himselfe severall ffees to a County &ca considerable Sume or quantity of Tobaccos fairely calculated & charged according to Act of Assembly and delivered the particulars and a faire List thereof to the Sheriffe of the said County Samuel Withers with an Execution signed by his Exncy the late Governor comanding the Leavying & makeing paymt thereof to yor Petr notwithstanding which the said Sheriff hath & still doth denye & Refuse to complye therewith or to Answer such Notes as your Petr hath severall times been Necessitated to draw vpon him for the discharge of his just Debts & his Necessary Supplyes for himselfe & family to his great blemish & scandall and the ruine almost of his credit & Reputation and in all probability may be to the impedimt & obstruction of his designed Voyage for England to his irreparable loss & damage against which your Petr hath noe Remedy vnless relieved by your Honors favour in granting him an Order of yor honble board to the Attorney Generall to put in suite the said Sheriffes bond for the Releife of yor Petitionr for wch Yor Pett shall pray &Ca
The which being read it was Ordered as it is hereby Ordered that the Prayer of the Petitionr be allowed; but before the same be put in Execution that he first give Notice hereof to the said p. 49 Sheriff, whoe vpon Refuseall to make some speedy & satis factory complyance with the said Petitioner, that then the said
