    year; and upon the peoples refusing to give him an Account Lib. H. D.

    he was thereon to make search & return the peoples

    names so Refusing, and that when he shall receive any

    new process against Amos Nichols & Cornelius Comegys,

    he should raise the posse of his County rather than faile

    taking them, the wch was approved off & Ordered to be sent

    accordingly.

    Lre to Coll     Ordered that a Letter be writ to the honoble Coll

    David Brown to give him an Accot of the Receipt of

    writhis Letter read in Councill, and tht they are sorry for

    his present lameness, and have Ordered an Appraisemt &

    Sale of Capt Meech's Sloop & Goods, His Honour, George

    Layfield Esqr & Majr King being therevnto by the sd Order

    especially appointed & that his Exncy & Councill do expect his

    company here next Assembly.

   

   

    Answer to Ordered that Answer be writ to the honoble Coll

     Jowles's Letter of the 1 5th of ffebry past to his Exncy

    writ & sent sent and directed, being here read in Councill, to

    signify to him that in the first place they were sorry for his

    present indisposition And that having advized with the Kings

    Lawyers touching his request in appointing one of his Mats

    honoble Councill to Officiate the Chancery Business in his stead,

    that by their Report the same could not be Granted & there- p. 303

    fore considered & Ordered that a new Commision should issue

    constituting the honoble Coll Nicholas Greenberry & the two

    former Commissioners to Officiate for this term, and that as to

    that part of his Letter relating to Majr Dorseys Reports; to

    give him an Accot that Major Dorsey was sent for and

    appeared in Councill, who denyed any such abuses offered,

    but that if he can prove, the same, it is the Opinion of this

    Board, that he may have a good Action at Law against him,

    but that it was the Opinion & sense of the Board that Majr

    Dorsey should have halfe the profits of the Seals for what

    instruments pass the same when it was in the sd Majr Dorseys

    custody.

   

   

      Produced & Read a Proclamation & severall Orders issued

    vpon severall occasions (by his Excells Comand) since the Whitehall

    meeting of the Councill in October last, wch were well approved

    off and Ordered to be Entered in the Journall of this Board,

    the which follow in these Words, Vizt
