382 Proceedings of the Council of Maryland, 1694 97.
Lib. H. D. Ordered that the same be Remitted according to the prayer of the Petr and to the Report thereon made that the same comes within the Limits of his Mats Royall instructions for remittance.
Ordr for His Exncy having sent for the Justices of the Adjournmt . . of the provinciall Court & Lawyers thereto belonging to Vide ifol. 289 provll Court know of them & advise what way, & method would
& prorogation of the be best for to bring the Business of all Actions &ca Assembly. there brought to be finished within the Circle or
compass of a twelmonth, to the end a quick & speedy dis Whitehall patch may be given to all process & proceedings there brought, p. 289 especially Writts of Error, Demurrers & Appeals to be done at Proposall the least charge& trouble to the Countrey & most ease relating to to the Justices & Lawyers,who accordingly appear,and Writts of the same being stated vnto them, his Excell Recom Error & mends that they consult & consider vpon the same Appeals against the next Assembly, to the end a Law may
then pass (if occasion) for the regulating those Matters; as likewise then make answer in what nature Appeals ought to be brought, Vizt whether the whole matter of fact vpon such Whitehall Appeal should be tryed a new or not. His Exncy also puts to them what will be the best time of Adjourning the Provinciall Court to & holding the Assembly, who are generally of Opinion that the best & most convenient time for holding the Assembly will be the last day of Aprill, and of Adjourning the provll Court to the second tuseday of May next, and Ordered that the s' Court be accordingly Adjourned to the second
Pro Court Teusday in May & the Assembly by proclamation Adjourn'd& further prorogued vntill the last day of Aprill, and Assembly that Proclamation issue pursuant thereto, the which prorogued accordingly issued, was signed by his Exncy & passed
the Broad Seal of the province.
