D. cate from vnder the hands & Seals of Office of the Collector, p. 274 p Customer & p Comptroler of the Port of Cowes, bearing Date the 10th day of June, Ao 1684, in discharge of John Thurbers Bond &Ca for whom the sd Coll Greenberry being security, and the s Bond is not at present to be found, does therefore humbly Move that the sd Certificate may be Entred in the Councill Book & provinciall Office, the wch was accord ingly Ordered; The s Certificate follows in these words, Vizt Port of Cowes,
John Thur- Know Yee that John Thurber Commander of the bers Cert. . . for dis. ship Phillip of New York from Maryland his Maties charge of Navigation p!antation in America hath duly Entred in this port
Bond the 31th of May last & the sixth instant June, and put on Land Two hundred & ffifty hogsheads and a [Seal] parcell in Bulke Maryland Tobacco; being all the Goods & Merchandize taken in at his Majesties said plantation in America, and which hath here paid his Mats subsidy and Addi- [Seal] tionall Duty in discharge of his Bond this Voyage taken by the Chief Officers at the Port of Petuxant in Maryland aforesd asp Certificate thence Dated the Eigth of Aprill last, vnder the hand & Sea! of Henry Lowe Collector Witness our hands & Seals of Office this tenth of June, 1684. Came Capt Richard Smith of Calvert County who Accot of acquainted his Excell & the Board that he was come Arms dd to to give an Accot of what Arms the Soldiers vnderColl Beal . vpon Sur- his Command delivered in his presence vnto Coll render of Ninian Beale, at Mattapany house, vpon the sur Mattapany render of that Garrison (in the time of the Revo!u
therein tion) to his Majesty Vizt 20 ffowling pieces & Muskets & one Carbine, being Arms belonging to private persons, saying that in pursuance of a former Ordr from this Board, commanding all private Arms that were taken away in P. 275 the time of the Revolution should be restored to the Owners of the same, he had demanded the aforementioned Arms of Coll Beale in right of himself & the other persons owning the same, but the said Coll Beale told him how that he had deliv ered the said Arms to Majr Cambell by Ordr of the persons then taking care of the Governmt Ordered that the said Capt Richard Smith do again apply himself to the said Coll Beale for the aforementioned Arms, and if the said Coll Beal can
