Comrs of the Sr Lib. H. D. We herewith send you a Coppy of a Letter which p. 8 ter Esq to we have written to the Governrs of the Severall Plan of Trade tations for your Information & Guidance in the
Vigorously Severall points therein Contained, being Occasioned prosecuted &cacheifely by an Act lately passed in Scotland for Erecting a Company to Trade from thence to India
Aifrica and America; whereof we likewise Send you a Coppy with a Coppy of the Address from the Lords Spirituall and Temporall and Commons in Parliamt Assembled, to his Maty and his Majesties gracious answer thereto; By all which you will Observe the Danger threatning his Mats Plantations, and the Loss likely to Attend our Trade from this Act, if the Scotch should under Colour thereof, Settle themselves in Plantations in America, which yet we dont see how they Can, So as to Obtain any advantge thereby, but by the Contrivance and Corruption of our Officers, And therefore to prevent them in their Designs, as we have Excited the sd Governors to a Vigor ous Execution of the Severall Laws made in England for the Security of our plantation trade, So we would Stirr you up thereunto; & doe Require from you a dilligent Observance of the sd Laws & the Ordrs and Instructions which you have Received in pursuance thereof, within your Station, having a more Especiall Eye and Reguard to such Ships and Vessells as may be any wayes suspected to Come from Scotl. or be bound thither, It being our Resolution to proceed agt Such of our Officers who Shall be Guilty in this Kind, with the Utmost Rigour and Severity.
