  At a Council &Ca October the 7th 1695.       Lib. H. D.

  

     New York Business again recommended to the House, and

   that they give some answer to the papers touching the same

   now lying before them (to wit) his Excell the Governr of New

   Yorks Letter &Ca and withall proposed that the House would

   make vp at least so much money in proportion as Virginia hath

   given towards the defence of that Governmt

  

  

By the House of Burgesses, Octobr the 7th 1695  Whitehall

  

     Capt Tasker one of the Members of the House prsents his

   Excell Coll Benjamin ffletcher his Mats Governr of New York's

   Letter sent from his Excell & his Mats honoble Councill for the

   pervsall of this House which was read & Referred for further

   consideration vntill to Morrow Morning.

  

  

By the House of Burgesses, October 8th 1695.    Whitehall

  

     Vpon his Exncies recommendation to the House that they

   would consider of some means to comply with her late Mats

   Commands in relation to the affording assistance to New p. 256

   York; therevpon Resolved that his Majesty be further

   addressed, thereby remonstrating how vncapable We are of

   affording such assistance.

  

  

    By his Excellency the Governr &ca Octobr 10th 1695 Whitehall

  

     Laid before the House a Letter of the honoble the Councill

   of New York vnto his Excell sent & directed, Dated 9th of

   September last past, together with certain propositions of the

   ffive Nations of Indians in the sd Letter inclosed for the

   pervsall & consideration of the House.

  

  

    By his Excellency the Governr & Councill in Assembly. Whitehall

                  October the 14th 1695.

  

     Vpon reading over severall Resolves of the House of Del

   egates & Burgesses in answer to severall Proposalls made to

   them from this Board, it is observed that they have given no

   answer to that part of a former proposall sent them relating

   to New York Affair, touching the making vp at least so much

   Money in proportion as Virginia hath given; therefore do

   propose that the Act for the additionall Duty of 3d p hogs

   head be continued for that purpose; His Excell being willing

   to advance Money vpon credit thereof, if wanting.
