next & tht ties; And that the appearances taken that Court be Lib. H. D. wt appearances are by the Clerks of the said Counties (where taken) there taken transmitted to be tryed within the Jurisdiction of such Court as the parties defendants do actually live Whitehall the proper & Reside in according to division of the same made Corts where the Defts & that after the said March Court all Writs precepts & reside &ca process issue out of the proper Courts lying within the limits & Jurisdiction of the afd late divided Counties & the New made County called Prince Georges County, pursuant to division of the same by Act of Assembly made as afd.
Ordr of Ordered that Mr William Cooper be appointed & Councill constituting Constituted and he is hereby accordingly nominated Mr Cooper & appointed Clerke of Prince Georges County, he G Yeilding & paying unto the honoble Sr Thomas Whitehall County &ca Laurence Baront Secretary the full Tenth part of the Profits and perquisits as other County Clks doe pay & Satisfy & Reserving the Residue to his own proper vse & behoofe as other County Clks doe hold & injoy the same and that he fit himself wth necessaries for his Office and prepare his security agt the time limitted and appointed by the Act of Assembly for the said County to Comence. Vestreymen Ordered that the Vestrymen of the Severall & Respective parishes within this Province take all due Churches and Speedy care for the building of Churches (where wanting) and for the taking the Oathes & Subscribing to the Test as also chooseing Church Wardens pursuant to the directions of the Act of Assembly of this Province in that Case made & provided; And that where the Court houses within any of the Counties of the province are placed conve nient where Churches may stand or be Erected, that in such case the said Court houses be made use off for Churches to Whitehall perform Divine Duty & Service in; especially Dorchester County Cort house in the parish of Great Choptanck, so that instead of Building a Church at Cambridge, the Vestrey may build a Chappell of Ease in some other Convenient place, And in like manner other parishes are hereby directed and Required to Observe and follow the same Rule. And it is hereby further Ordered, that where ministers are wanting in any the said pishes the Vestreymen for the same appointed take care to provide some sober, discreet person to Read prayers on Sundays, And where it so falls out that one Minister happens to Enjoy the benefit & profits of two pishes that then such Minister provide some sober and discreet person to Read prayers as afd in that Church those dayes the Minister shall p. 202 therein be absent, Provided the whole fforty p poll be paid
