   Peticon of Upon Reading the Petition of the Vestreymen of Lib. H. D.

   the Vestrey-   .

   men of All the pish of All Saints in Calvert County Seting forth

   Saints pish that they had taken care to build a Church wthin their

   in Calvert     .

   County re- said parish & had sometimes on Sundays in an after-

   questing his noon the Benefit of Mr Hulls preaching amongst

  

       them; though with difficulty obtain'd by reason of

   furtherance the great distance betwixt his parish Church &

   of Mr Hulls preaching theres; but do hope to procure his further Assistance,

  

   augst 7th by taking some other Method, through his Exncys

   thereon &ca permission, and such as will be no hindrance to his

         own cure, His in Councill was pleased to Ordr

   as it is hereby Ordered that (if in case the said Mr Hull will

   take that trouble upon him) the prayer of the petrs be Granted.

   his Exncys His Exncy representing to the Board that severall

   Representacon abt Masters of Ships had complained unto him that the

   mastrs of Tobacco hhds now made and sent on Board their

       Ships Complaint of the ships exceed the measure prescribed by the late Act

   gage of Tob of Assembly, much to their detrimt & damage;

  

  der thereon Ordered that Proclamation issue to give Notice to

          all Coopers and Others therein concern'd, that they

   make their Casque according to Act of Assembly vnder

   penalty of being proceeded against according to Law, therein

   directing all Casque to be measured when they come on

   Board.

  

  

                 August the 20th 1695.

  

     Produced a Proclamation drawn up accordingly, the wch

   being read, was Signed by his Exncy & passed the Broad Seal

   of the Province,

     the Tenor whereof follows in these Words. Vizt

  

              By his Exncy the Capt Genll

   Maryland ss.     A Proclamation

  

   Proclamacon Whereas Complaint hath been made by Divers

   touching the Owners and Masters of Ships Trading into this

  

   Tob. hhds Province how that severall Merchants & others

   Inhabitants wthin the same doe notwthstanding a Late Act of

   Assembly passed the 18th day of October 1694 Entituled an Act

   touching Coopers & the Gage of Tobacco hhds, Continue to

   make & Cause to bee made their Tobacco hhds. farr exceed

   ing the Dimenssions in the said Act prescribed & set downe p. 196

   Sundry hhds whereof packt with Tobacco have been actually

  

   shiped on board their Severall & Respective Ships Contrary

   to the intent and meaning of the said Act, to the great preju

   dice and Lessening of his Mats Revenue as also Damage to
