   Bond of Know all men by these presents that Wee Capt p. 184

   formance &ca Willm Dent & Mr Cleborne Lomax Gentl.of Charles

   

   County in Maryland are holden & firmly bound Unto his

   Exncy Francis Nicholson Esqr their Mats Capt Genll & Chief

   Governr of this Province in the full & Just sume of one thou

   sand Pounds of Lawfull Money of England to be paid to the

   said Francis Nicholson Esqr his Exrs Admrs or Assigns to the

   which paymt well & truly to be made Wee bind ourselves &

   either of Us by himselfe our & either of our heirs Exrs and

   Admrs Joyntly & severally for the whole & in the Whole

   firmly by these presents, Witness our hands and Seales Novem

   ber 19th 1694

     The Condition of the aboue Written Obligation is such that

   Whereas his Exncy Francis Nicholson Esqr hath Coihissionated

   & appointed the said Cap' Willm Dent to be Navall Officer for

   the Upper parts of Charles County that is to say begining at

   Porttobacco & so Vpwards to the head of the said County in

   the said Province, by his Comission bearing equall date with

   these presents, Now if the said Capt Willm Dent shall well &

   truly ?form the said Office according to the severall Acts of

   Parliamt in that case made & Provided, & shall observe the

   Directions contained in the Acts of Assembly of this Province

   relating to the Duty of Navall Officers & from time to time

   Save Defend & keep harmless the said Francis Nicholson

   Esqr from all Damage Loss & Charges that he the said Francis

   Nicholson Esqr shall Sustaine at any time by reason of the said

   Cap' Willm Dents non pformance of his said Office (so long

   as he shall Enjoy the same) As in the said severall Lawes is

   enacted & Ordained, Then the aboue Obligation to be Voyd

   & of none effect, otherwise to be  & remaine in full force &

   Virtue
