  Order that Ordered that if James Crawford of Calvert County Lib. H. D.

  James Crawford be dis- does at present Officiate any Publick place or places

  continued of profit within this Province that he be discontinued

 

  from any publick place from henceforth to Act any further in the Same and

  of Office &ca that some other person or persons be constituted

 

  in his stead.

 

   Presented to the Board by Thomas Tench Esqr the follow

  ing Peticon Vizt

   To his Exncy Francis Nicholson Esqr Capt Genll & Govr of

 

  Maryland in Councill &ca

 

         The humble Petition of Thomas Tench Esqr

  Esqr Tench's Humbly Sheweth

  Peticon re

lating to the      Fhat forasmuch as upon a hearing in

  Trayll of Matter of Law, vpon a Judgmt of the Provinciall

  Ann &ca& Court concerning the Seizure of the Ship Anne

  Ordr therein from which the sd Ship was discharged by Verdict

 

         & Judgmt of the said Court, the same Judgmt is

  reversed whereby the said Ship is become lyable to a second

  Tryall, as to the fact, And for as much as the Loading is ready

  for the said Ship and shee ready to take it in if cleared, or if

  not the sd Cargo may be otherwise disposed.

   He therefore humbly prayed your Exncy to Ordr Some time

  for the Tryall thereof with as much speed as Affaires of that

  Nature in yor Exncies wisdome shall be thought fitting.

                        And he shall ever pray &ca

   The said Petition was Ordered to be indorsed thus, Vizt

 

          By his Exncy the Governr and Councill     p. 171

                   May 22th 1695.

   Ordered that the within petition be Referred to the severall

  Lawyers in Town for them to Consult what the Law directs

  in that Case and tht they make Report thereof accordingly to

  this Board.

  Governrs De- His EXUCY demands of Mr Tench how the said Ship

  mands of

  Esqr Tench came to be of so much less Value than she was upon

  abt the Ship the first appraisemt and how he came to remove the

  swertherto sd Ship vnder Seizure to another place, who makes

  &ca answer that the occasion of so great difference in

  the appraisemts was through meanes of the damage she Suf

  fered by the Ice this last Winter, and lying in a Muddy place
