Proclamacon Ordered that Proclamation be prepared for Ad the Provinciall Court vntill 2d Tuseday in
of the Provll August, by Reason the ffleet is now come in and Court &ca have but a short time to stay which accordingly was
prepared, Read & Signed by his Exncy & passed the Broad Seale of the Province
Ordr for Produced by his Exncy at the Board Letter from Coppies of the Lettr the Rt honble the Comissioners of their Mats Customes, from Dated 17th November 1694 relating to the Collectors Comissionr . . of the mats of Virginia & Maryland compelling Mats of Ships Custom that had given Navigation Bonds in England, to London for give Bonds a new here, which being read his Exncy the Sevrall in Councill was pleased to Order as it is hereby Collectors of this Ordered that Copyes of the said Letter be drawn
Province forth & sent to the Severall Collectors wth in this
Province, And that they severally give Answer Navigation thereto. Bonds
The Letter follows in these Words Vizt TheRt Sr honble the Comissionrs It haveing been represented to us by way of of their complaint from Severall Mrchts of this City Trading
Mats Cus- tomes Lettr to Maryland & Virga that Notwithstanding the Mas to his ExflCY ters of their Ships doe before their Departure out of England give Bond at the Respective Port to returne Bonds with tbeir Loading in pursuance of the Law to Some Port of England Wales or Berwick & produce Certificate thereof to the Collectors in Maryland & Virga yett the said Collrs do compell them there to give Bond againe with the same Condition thereby Creating an Unnecessary trouble & Charge, Wee desire you to Examine into this Matter in Mary land & to give Order that in all Cases where the Master or Comander of a Ship doth produce a Certificate duly vouched Under the hands of four or More of us or the Comrs of the Customes of England for the time being of his having given Bond as afd in the port from whence he Cleared such Master
