    Governr of Examination of a Maquass Indian called Sinnon p. 143

    New York

    Coppy of Servan who is run a way from Cannada & come

    inteiiigence hither in Seaven days time by Land taken before

    from Canida    .

          Coll Richard Ingoldsby Commander in cheif of the

    ifrontiers and Majr Peter Schuyler one of the Councill he was

    taken about a Year a goe by the ffrench Indians near Where

    the Late Engagemt was with the ffrench When they burnt the

    Maquass Castle

   

   

               Albany the 2 September 1694

    Says

     That Count Frontiniac Was at Mount Royall and a great

    Number of Men both ffrench and Indians and Men and Pro

    visions brought thither dayly in Great quantityes that there

    was a Plain as bigg in Circumference as Albany full of Burch

    Canoes and great many Batoes that the Clubs wch Jurian the

    Maquass brought thither When hee tooke the two ffrench

    Boyes Were brought to the Governrs by the ffrench praying

    Indian Who said ffather Wee Will bring the Clubbs back

    again to All: Noe said the Governr of Canida my Children I

    will goe and carry the clubbs there my selfe only I stay till the

    8o days be Expired that Dekemissoi has to return in and then

    I sett out there were two or three Indians that were privy to

    this Indians coming away Who would stay till the Governr

    setts out & then Would come hither the Governr has a great

    Many Bombs & hand Granadoes some of the Bombs & hand

    granados he see fyred att Mount Royall and had also a great

    many Instrumts for undermining he says further that wahawy

    the Maquass that used to Comitt great Spoyle In our Coast is

    killed upon an Expedicon agt the North West Passage It was

    discoursed at Canida that the Governr of Mount Royall Was
