Came Capt William Dent, who Received a Com mission signed & Sealed by his Exncy to be Navall Officer for the vpper parts of Charles Counry, Vizt Begining at Portobacco and so vpwards to the head of the said County.

Parliamt to be taken instead of the Oaths of Allegi ance & Supremacy as also the Oath for the due observance of the Acts of Trade & Navigation and likewise subscribed to the Test. The following was a Certificate brought from the Provinciall Court, of Mr Thomas Brisco's being sworn Navall Officer there.
These may Certifye whom it may concern that the Bearer hereof Thomas Brisco of Calvert County Gent hath in open Court taken the Oaths appointed by Act of Parliamt as also the Oath of Navall Officer for Petuxant District, Witness my hand this Tenth day of November, in the Sixth year of their Majts &Ca Annoq Domini, 1694.
