  District; And now his EXnCY Governor Nicholson vpon his Lib. H. D.

  strict Examination how their Majts Revenue has been disposed

  off since the Revolution in this Province finds that Governor

  Copley had Received vpward of ffour hundred pound more

  than he ought to have Converted to his owne Use but laid out

  for Armes and Amunition for their Majts service & defence of

  this Province as appears by their Mats Royall Instructions to

  the said Governor Copley to which this Depont was altogether

  a stranger, And before either of these Ciaimes this Depont

  had fully paid as farr as Assets and duely Administred as

  aforesaid, And this Depont further saith not.

   Vnderneath the same was thus written

 

 

               November the 16th 1694.

    Came the above Depont and made Oath before me to the

  truth of the above mentioned premises

            Maryland Novembr the 15th 1694

  George Pla- This da came before me George Plater Aged

  sition touch- vpwards of thirty years and made Oath on the Holy

  ing Admin.. Evangelist that Nehemiah Biackiston Coll Nicholas

  istracon of Governr Greenberry, this Depont and John LLeweliin were

 

 Copleys    appointed Trustees by the Honoble Lionel Copley

        Esqr in his intended Will which he heard as aforesaid

  the sd Copley Ordered to be writ, but did not live to signe,

  some time after said Copleys decease, Coll Blackiston being

  Commissary Generall Granted to this Depont & Thomas

  Tench Esqr Letters of Administracon, but before the Depont Whitehall

  could proceed to the Execution of said Authority Sr Edmond

  Andros arrived here, by whose means the said Letters of

  Administracon were made Voyd & the Son & heir of the

  Deceased advised by the sd Sr Edmond Andros to Choose

  whom he thought good to Administer on his ffathers Estate, p. 99

  in behaife of himself, his Brother & Sister, as this Depont was

  informed by the heir, According to Sr Edmond Andross

  Advice, the Heir, Mr Lionel Copley made Choice of Coll

  Nehemiah Blackiston and the said Thomas Tench, who, as

  this Depont was informed, had Administracon accordingly

  And further this Depont saith that this Depont never had any
