       Lib. H. D. Do Orders Ordered that the Armes Bullets and Shott be like-

       Whitehall About

             Armes & wise devided and parceled out proportionable to the

             Amunicön powder, And that one Bar” of the S'd powder be

      

             lodged in a place oneiy and that neither the S'd Armes nor

             Amunicon be medied wth or made Use of Unless upon case

             of Invasion or insurrection wch God forbid.

      

             Militia  The following Orders and Instructions relateing

             Orders aud       .

             Instructiones to the Regulating the Militia drawne forth by Order

                    and Sign'd & Sealed by his Excency were sent to

             each County of the Province

      

      

                        By his Excency the Goverr & Councill &ca

                                         Octobr the 9th 1694.

      

               Ordered that there be three ffield Officers Appointed in

             each County Vizt A Colln Lievtenant Collonell and A Major

             to be Cornissionated by his Execncy wth power to Appoint and

             Constitvte all Officers under them And Enlist Souldiers in

             such and so many Devisions as they shall see most proper and

             convenient A Troope to Consist of A Captain, Lievtennant

             Cornet Quarter Master, a Clerk, three Corporails, Thirty six

             private Troopers & a Trumpeter.

               A Company of ifoot to Consist of A Captain, Lievtenant,

             Ensigne a Clerk, three Serjants, ffour Corporalls, & two

             Drumers, & Seaventy two private Soldiers.

               That there be Dragoons Raised where they can conven

             iently each Troope to consist of one Capt one Lievtennant,

             one Cornet, a Quarter Master a Clerke three Serjants and

             ifour Corporails & fforty ffive Troopers And foreasmuch as it

             being Assembly time & all Clerks now in Town are busily

          p. 73  imployed in Writting Soe that Military Comissions cannot So

             imediately be prepared it is thereupon Ordered that the Sevrli

             ffield Officers now hereby Appointed doe Act as fully and

             Amply pursuant to the following Directions as if they had All

             ready Received their Comissions for the Same as likewise all

             Officers appointed Under them whereof all persons are to take

             due Notice as they will Answer the Contrary at their perills.

               ffield Officers hereby Appointed are as follows Vizt

             ffor St Maries County

               Sr Thomas Laurance Barnont Collonell, Capt Jno Cood

             Lievtent Colloneil and Majr John Cambeil Major.

             ffor Kent County.

               Mr John Hinson Collonell, Mr Hans Hanson Levetennant

             Collonell and Mr Thomas Smith Major.

             ffor An Arundeil County.
