Assembly Proceedings, Sept. 20-Oct. 18, 1694. 65

beareing date the 24th day of ffebruary in the fourth yeare of
their Reigne, produced & read to and by their Majties Covncill
of this Province this day in Councill Siting I have (by & wth
the Advice of the said Councill upon my Accession to the
Comand & Governmt afd thought fit to proclame & declare
and doe hereby publish & make knowne that all & Singular
their Majties Magistrates Ministers & Officers Civill & Military
within this Province are & doe Stand and Remaine continued
& Confirmed in their Respective places and Offices afd untill
further Orders hereby Strictly chargeing & Enjoyneing them
& every of them respectively to Execute and performe the
Duty of their Respective places & Offices afd as formerly they
haue or ought to haue done, Willing alsoe & Comanding all
& Singular their Majties Loveing Subjects of the said Province
and all others whome it may Concerne to take due Notice
hereof & yield all ready Obedience thereunto as they will
Answer the Contrary at their perills, To wch End I doe
straightly Charge and Comand all & Singular the Sherriffes
of the respective Countyes of this Province to make publick
proclamacon hereof in the most publick & Convenient places
within their Respective Countyes.
Given at the Citty of Snt Maryes the 25th day of Sepbr Anno
Dom 1693 in the fifth yeare of the Reigne of our Soveraigne
Lord & Lady King William and Queen Mary

And for that the said Sr Edmond did not upon his Entrance
to the said Governmt take the Oath of Trade & Navigation
nor administr or Direct the same to be Administred to Coll
Nicholas Greenberry by him left as president nor to Sr Thomas
Laurence at his next Comeing for the due & Strict Observ-
ance of the Sevrall parts of a Certaine Statute of England
made in the 12th yeare of King Charles the Seconds Reigne
Entituled An Act for the Encourageing & Encreaseing of
Shipping & Navigation as by the said Act is Comanded
enjoyned & Required Wee haue thought it necessary to pro-
mote a Certaine bill to this present Genll Assembly To be

humbly Offered to their Majties for their Royall assent To Con-
firme & Ratifie all pceedings Judiciall Military & Civill from
the Death of the said Governt Copley to yr Exncies Arivall to
this Governmt
Wee therefore Humbly Move your Exncy not only to accept
of this our true & Just Representation of the premisses but
that you will be pleased to Joyne wth us who in all becoming
& Loyall Humillity desire to Lay the Same before their
Majtes praying their Gracious & Royall assent to the said Bill
