inclinations & forwardness in contributeing soe Voluntarily &
Largely towards soe good & Beneficiall a worke as of building
free Schooles & would have agreed to the Conference this
Night desired, but that some Members of this Board are at
present wanting; but God willing to Morrow Morning after
prayers my Selfe and the members of their Majties Honoble
Councill will be ready to conferr with your House at the
Councill Chamber.

Councill Again Sate & were all present Except Mr Tench
Mr Cheseldyn wth Severall Others of the Houses Members
come up to the Conference yesterday appointed.
It is proposed to his Exncy what way is most fit & proper for
Erecting a ffree Schoole and for Raiseing a Supplye and
Maintenance for the Mastrs
To which his Exncy does Answer that there being noe proper
ffund as he sees in this province for carryeing on such a
designe therefore the same must be done by way of Contribu-
tion & that 100l strl p annum may be Sufficient for the
