Resolved [nemine Contradicente that his] Ma^ty be addressed
to returne our thanks for tributing to the assistance
of New Yorke
Upon Discovery of the [trayterous and] designed Assassi-
nation of his Ma^ty sacred person prop[osed by his] Ex^cy that
if this house do thinke that it may be for his Ma^tys Service he
will take care to secure all papists their horses, arms and
ammunition; but thanks God he fears no danger from them.
Upon which the house returne his Ex^cy their thanks for his
Care and acquaint him that whereas they do not in the least
apprehend any danger from them so they are of opinion there
will be no occasion thereof.
Severall of the new Elected members of this House give to
the use of the Free Schools as follows (to witt)

M^r William Hatton 1000 discharged from their
M^r William Helmsley 800 Subscriptions m their
M^r George Ashman 600 Severall Countyes

M^r Anthony Workeman came before the house and gave
150^l Sterl: to the building of an house upon a Lott which his
Ex^cy had already given together with tenn pounds Sterl:
towards building the said house which is to be enjoyed by the
said Anthony Workeman during his naturall life, and remayne
over to the use of the Free Schools. Also the said M^r Worke-
man promised to leave all Improvements upon the said Lott
in good and Sufficient Repair.
The house adjourned till 6 a Clock to morrow morning

Tuesday July the 7^th 1696

Then the house met and read over what was done yes-
terday.
Proposed that in the Act of Religion it be said Ecclesias-
ticall fundamentall laws of England.

Put to the Vote if the s^d Bill shall be referred to the Consider-
ation of the next sessions of Assembly, and carryed in the
affirmative. Whereupon resolved the following Message be
sent to his Ex^cy and his Ma^tys hon^ble Councill Viz^t
