during the War of the American Revolution, 1775-83. 589 Agreeable to a resolution of Congress, bearing date the 26th day of May, 1783, the bearer hereof Archibald Gordon a Soldier (Was of Lt. Col. Henry Lee's Legion) belonging to the State of Maryland has leave of absence untill called upon by proper authority to join his Corps, or is finally discharged. Given at the Head of Elk in Mary Ld. this 26th Aug., 1 783. Michael Rudulph, Capt., Lee's Legion. Sir—Please pay to Archibal Gordan my pay Due me as a Soldier in the Partizan Legion, and his Receipt Shall be good for the Same. Sir I am yours Abiah Hukill Christopher Rutledge Robert Crouch I do authorize and appoint David Henderson to receive and settle the above Order from Abih. Hukill in favour of me. Given this 1 2th Sept., 1783 Archibald Gordon. Michl. Rudulph, Capt., Lee's Legion. Cecil County 7th Novem., 1785. Sir—Please to Settle with the Bearer, Mr Tobias Rudulph, what's Due to me On your Books for my Services as a Soldier in Col. Henry Lee's Legion as my furlow will shew and Remit it to me by him and you will Oblige Sr. yours &c Archibald Gordon. Capt. White Or any Other Officer that hath the Settling said Accts. Called John Gordon Power of Attorney from Abiah Hukins to David Henderson to collect all sums due from the United States to Hukins for his services in Lt. Col. Lee's Partizan Legion. Same from William Dowdie to Thomas Broom, April 10th, 1784. |
